A Professional Agrologist, Certified Crop Advisor and Master of Science in Plant Science
Kristina Polziehn is an independent agronomist, working as a Professional Agrologist (PAg.) and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) in Alberta. In 2014, she started Axiom Agronomy Ltd., based in Sturgeon County, providing agronomic services in the Edmonton surrounding area and Peace Country region. Additionally, Axiom Agronomy also provides aerial imaging and data processing services throughout Alberta, acting as the sole dealer for AgPixel, LLC aerial data products.
Kristina’s experience in the agriculture industry comes from working 10+ years in agronomy, research, grain marketing and sales. She spent two years with BASF Canada as a Technical Specialist covering southern Saskatchewan and four years with Viterra as Manager of Agronomic Services in northern Alberta/BC and a Regional Account manager in the Edmonton/Camrose area. She completed an MSc in plant science from the University of Alberta, and currently serves on the Canadian Weed Science Society and Alberta Institute of Agrologists boards. In 2016, Kristina was selected as a recipient for the 2017 Nuffield Canada Scholarship, sponsored through the Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) to study applications of remote sensing in crop production with manned and unmanned aircraft.
Kristina understands that each farm is unique and with that comes a need for customized design of agronomic and precision agriculture programs. Above all, her desire is to provide diverse agronomic solutions to her clients including crop scouting, soil sampling, fertilizer recommendations and prescriptions, crop planning, crop diagnostics, aerial imagery acquisition and aerial image processing. She has been utilizing new aerial imagery technologies and remote sensing information in crop production to enhance variable rate fertilizer prescriptions, crop scouting and crop diagnostics.
